Last week, a grand ceremony was held in Serahs etrap on the occasion of start-up of a new building of the foreign trade terminal of the State Commodities and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. The terminal was built and technically equipped according to the modern standards to ensure all necessary conditions for productive and effective work. The foreign trade terminal is a large complex, which includes the administrative and utility buildings, a check-point, parking lots for trucks and cars, technical units, a hotel and a dining hall. Within the complex, there is also the equipment intended for weighing large-size and heavy cargoes. The domestic export-oriented products, as well as import commodities, will be stored in the terminal’s 10 spacious warehouses; four of them (outdoor) and two (indoor) are intended for storing cotton; two others - for textiles, including knitted and downy goods, as well as washed sheep, goat and camel wool products and many other commodities; one warehouse is intended to store fruits and vegetables; a spacious refrigerating warehouse was built there as well. The terminal was built against the order of the State Commodities and Raw Materials Exchange by its lower State Utility-Production Organization “Altyn-Zamana”. The new foreign trade complex will facilitate implementation of the tasks set by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov - to increase export potential of domestic production, as well as to create optimum conditions for foreign buyers at the exchange auctions. Commissioning of the modern terminal, which has replenished the infrastructure of the country’s State Commodities and Raw Materials Exchange, is expected to improve the organization’s performance.
