Putting innovative technologies and experience into the water resources rational management

The conference hall of the capital’s hotel “Yyldyz” hosted a Turkmen-Korean forum on the water resources rational management co-organized by the Ministry of Water Economy of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in our country. The main goal of the forum was - to exchange experience and present the projects and services based on the latest technologies and researches in the sector. To participate in the Ashgabat business meeting, representatives of the state company of Korea «K-water» (world’s leader in the sphere of water resources integrated management), «Hyundai Engineering» and «Doosan Heavy Industry» (developers and producers), the Korean engineering and consulting corporation «KECC», as well as the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute arrived in Ashgabat. The Turkmen side was represented by leading specialists and experts of the ministries and department of water economy, agriculture and communal services, nature protection, as well as representatives of khyakimlik of Ashgabat city and the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union of Turkmenistan. In the welcoming speech, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Mr. Jong Tae-in noted special significance of the forum for further strengthening of mutually beneficial and long-term cooperation which has got a great advancement-promoting impulse in the course of the running year’s April visit of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to the Republic of Korea to participate in the 7th World Water Summit held in Taegu under the slogan “Water for our future”. The Korean side was introduced to the state of water resources in Turkmenistan, legislative basis for their protection and rational use, as well as the large-scale investment projects implemented in the water-resources system, including construction of new water reservoirs, hydro-engineering and ameliorative projects. In turn, the Korean companies presented their latest achievements in the sector - the projects for creating of the advanced water-supply system integrated management; water cleaning and desalination; water quality control; as well as development of Smart-NPP (nuclear power plant) on the renewable sources of energy. Thus, the country’s leading company «K-water» – a provider of services in this sphere, presented the rivers restoration projects, including construction of the multipurpose dams and other hydro-engineering objects aimed at floods and draught control, local economies advancement. The largest companies-developers «Hyundai Engineering», «Doosan Heavy Industry» and «KECC» presented their systemic solutions in the sphere of bringing low-quality waters to the level of potable water through water treatment and purification, uninterrupted water supply, use of the recycled sewage («HANT»-technology) in industry, and others.
