The President of Turkmenistan visited the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex, located in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, where he checked in on the ‘heavenly’ horses and went horse riding. The President inspected the conditions of keeping and caring for the horses, their food ration. Then, the President of Turkmenistan took a horse ride, riding Shapolat stable. One of the priorities of the state policy in this area is the increase in the number of ‘heavenly’ horses, the preservation of the national traditions of the art of horse breeding and their enrichment with modern technologies. Of course, it takes a lot of strength and care before a stallion grows up in a stately, frisky horse, impressing with success, beauty, grace. The Turkmen are able to cherish their horses, giving them the best things. That is vividly testified by Ahalteke horses! It should be noted the National Festival of the Turkmen Horse is widely celebrated in our country. This holiday is the triumph of the talent and wisdom of our people, the continuity of our ancestors’ traditions. Horse racing is an obligatory attribute of Turkmen holidays. Horse races are also arranged during public holidays. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov calls specialists to expand the breeding methods, using modern technologies, to actively promote all types of equestrian sports, and to increase international cooperation in this field. According to the President of Turkmenistan, the main thing is to maintain the continuity and essence of horse-breeding traditions. Today, in the age of high technology, it is important to preserve these original traditions, to pass them on to younger generation, who should become their worthy successors, treating horses - the property of the people - with special love and attention. Due to the establishment of the International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding in Ashgabat, headed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the work to intensify cooperation in this area has expanded significantly, which opens up new opportunities for the popularization of Ahalteke horses.
