Today in the morning, the President of Turkmenistan has held a breakfast meeting with the heads of large companies in Japan in Chinzanso Tokyo Hotel. The heads of well-known corporations, including ITOCHU, Sojitz, Mitsubishi, Kawasaki Heavy Industries among others, as well as the government officials of Turkmenistan, heads of ministries and departments in the construction sector, the financial system, energy, the chemical industry, the transport sector, water management, and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs attended the meeting. Welcoming the meeting participants, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the successful experience in implementing various projects in Turkmenistan with the participation of Japanese companies and the ongoing preparations for new joint projects in the field of development of the industrial and technological infrastructure. In the future, it can be used by the both countries to develop economic relations with the regions of the Middle East, the basins of the Caspian, Black and Mediterranean Seas. The President of Turkmenistan outlined the essence of the new economic strategy of Turkmenistan, the main content of which is the creation of an industrial society in the country, in particular construction of new high-tech enterprises in the oil and gas industry, electric power, transport and communications, water management, and textile sector. There are wide opportunities for developing cooperation with Japanese enterprises in the sphere of electronics, computer and logistics services. At the same time, the President of Turkmenistan underlined that our state would continue providing necessary support to Japanese companies and financial institutions in their work on the territory of our country. The President of Turkmenistan underlined the significance of exchanging views on specific areas of cooperation, putting forward initiatives and recommendations with the aim to enhance the Turkmen-Japanese economic ties. According to the heads of corporations, the Japanese business expressed great interest in the economic reforms taken place in Turkmenistan, widely supported the energetic personal activities and innovative steps of the President of Turkmenistan in terms of creating the most favorable conditions and effective, flexible mechanisms for attracting foreign investment into the country and promoting home investment through a growing class of entrepreneurs. The meeting participants exchanged their views on the prospects and ways of intensifying long-term partnerships in the fuel and energy sector, trade and economic sphere, chemical industry, transport, agriculture and water economy and other equally important areas of joint interests. Particular attention was paid to the possibility of establishing direct ties between entrepreneurs of the two countries, using the experience of the largest companies in Japan, in particular in the field of business management, establishment of highly profitable industries, and training highly qualified personnel.
