Speaking from the rostrum of the Baku Summit of Heads of State or Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that today the global economy played an important sphere of work of the Movement. The President of Turkmenistan expressed belief that the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement should protect the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries, and defend justice and equality in international economic relations. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called the member states of the Movement to strongly oppose discrimination, unjustified, often artificial barriers to world trade, to recognize the economic sovereignty of peoples and states. “The voice of the Non-Aligned Movement should sound solid and significantly, we have to promote our own global economic agenda”, the Turkmen leader said.
