President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov receives credentials from newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan Mubarak Abdul Rahman Bin Mubarak Al Nasr. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat conveyed the greetings and good wishes to the President of Turkmenistan from Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and emphasized the interest of his country in enhancing the interstate dialogue. Addressing the best wishes to the Emir of Qatar, the President of Turkmenistan underlined that friendly and constructive relations had been established between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar. During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest exchanged the views on the key areas of the bilateral cooperation that has achieved a new impetus for development on the outcomes of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar in March, 2017 as well as the official visit of Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Turkmenistan. The sides focused on the solid potential for developing mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership and efficient relations in various spheres. The oil and gas sector and transport sphere were specified among the main areas of the interstate relations. It was underlined that Turkmenistan and Qatar as widely-recognized power-producing states and leading exporters of natural gas paid particular attention to cooperation in this strategic sphere. It was also emphasized the importance of the projects on the establishment of the international infrastructure of transit and transport communications, initiated by the President of Turkmenistan. The Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari commission plays an important role in diversifying cooperation in the trade, investment, industrial and technological spheres. It was also underlined the significance of the dialogue in the humanitarian sphere and in the sphere of sports. The President of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan expressed belief in the further dynamics of the interstate relations.
