Number of projects to be implemented with the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat in 2020

Plan of projects provided for realization together with the Centre of the organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ashgabat in 2020 is under development. It was reported to the Head of the State by Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov at the session of the Government on November 27. In this regard, it was noted that Turkmenistan works closely with the OSCE and its structural divisions and specialized agencies. The OSCE Centre in Ashgabat works permanently in Ashgabat since 1999. Number of joint targeted projects has been carried out under bilateral partnership, which has systematic character. Preliminary Plan of projects for the next year in political, economic and humanitarian spheres has been developed. They are aimed at further consolidation of efforts in such priority directions as strengthening of security, combating against dangerous challenges and threats, diversification of the economy, energy efficiency, climate change as well as development of science and education, mass media, cooperation in legal sphere. Regular session of the Ministers of the OSCE member countries, which is to be held in Bratislava, the capital of the Republic of Slovakia, is planned in December 5 – 6 this year. Following this, it is planned to develop a final version of the Plan. In this regard, the Head of the State noted high level of old cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE. It was highlighted that our country intends to continue strengthening of this fruitful partnership. Neutral Turkmenistan aims at full format dialog with the OSCE in current modern subjects, which includes the provision of peace, security and stability, achievements of the SDGs, creation of actual mechanisms of regional and global energy security, formation of the system of stable transport, promotion of economic, humanitarian and ecological projects. In this context, the Vice-premier, the Foreign Minister received assignments for elaboration of the above-mentioned plan and development of cooperation with the OSCE.
