This year, it is planned to produce 275,000 tons of cotton to be sown on 155,000-hectare area. Dashoguz Velayat agricultural workers give preference to medium-fiber cotton varieties. Special equipment - tractors, seeding-machines, cultivators play an important role in the effective implementation of the agricultural campaign. In 2019, the technical fleet was replenished with 300 John Deer cotton harvesters (USA). This year, 300 more John Deer harvesters are expected to arrive. 155 multifunctional tractors, 155 cultivators, and, for the first time, 98 eight-strand cotton planters of this brand were already delivered in Turkmenistan. Moreover, in 2019-2020, CLAAS agricultural equipment was imported into our country - 300 arable tractors, 550 row-crop tractors, 300 plow tractors. Before the start of the spring campaign, Dashoguz Velayat Khyakimlik held a meeting with the heads and leading specialists of the etrap kyakimliks, agronomists, machine operators, cotton growers. The meeting participants discussed the organizational issues related to the terms of the sowing campaign, the quality of the relevant agricultural activities, the clear and coordinated work of all the services involved in the current campaign. The exhibitions of agricultural machinery and agricultural products of the northern region were launched as part of the celebrations to mark the beginning of the cotton sowing campaign.
