President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov. Cordially greeting the head of the largest region of the Russian Federation, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated him on the past holiday – the International Day of Novruz and wished prosperity to the fraternal people of Tatarstan. It was emphasized that in the frames of development of the strategic Turkmen-Russian dialogue, great importance was attached to strengthening cooperation with the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including the Republic of Tatarstan, with which our country has long-standing relations based on the historical, cultural and spiritual community of the two peoples. The established high level of trust stands as a solid basis for expanding effective partnership in various fields. Expressing satisfaction with the positive dynamics in the development of fruitful trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the talks held in Kazan last June. The constructive nature of the discussion, which took place in an atmosphere of openness and respect for each other's interests, the agreements reached and the documents signed as a result of the negotiations, clearly demonstrated the mutual desire to build an equal partnership, supported by the positive experience of many years of joint work in the framework of important projects. Confirming the willingness of the parties to further intensify cooperation in a wide range of areas, the interlocutors discussed steps to implement the agreements reached earlier. The long-term mutually beneficial partnership of Turkmenistan with the largest companies of Tatarstan, including the automotive giant KamAZ, OAO Tatneft, Kazan Helicopter Plant and many other enterprises, vividly prove the effective use of existing opportunities. For example, vehicles of various modifications are regularly delivered with the aim to strengthen the material and technical base in Turkmenistan, service centers for maintaining high-performance equipment are constructed in the country. “Tatneft” works on the modernization of the fuel and energy complex, discussing the possibility of developing the shelf of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. The project on the production of complex fertilizers within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the “Türkmenhimiýa” State Concern and KER Holding Limited Liability Company is being implemented. According to the agreements reached at the First Caspian Economic Forum, deliveries of various helicopters and new types of container ships have been launched. The parties also noted the importance of building contacts in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. In this context, the Turkmen leader expressed gratitude for the care about students, getting higher education in the institutions of Tatarstan. The interlocutors also discussed the situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic, which has a negative impact on the global economy, and in this context - the production of medical supplies to prevent its spread. It was expressed confidence that, despite external factors, the joint measures would maintain the current dynamics of development of trade and economic cooperation. In conclusion, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov exchanged good wishes.
