The status of and prospects for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Ukraine, and further steps to deepen cooperation in a number of areas were discussed the consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ukraine held in the format of a videoconference meeting. Among the priority topics are the trade, economic, fuel and energy and transport sectors. Confirming mutual interest in the intensification of interstate partnership, built on an equal, constructive basis, the meeting participants underlined the importance of enhancing the work of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Ukrainian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. As emphasized, Ukraine considered Turkmenistan that confidently diversifies the national economy as one of the most important partners in Central Asia. The scale of the fundamental transformations launched in our country, along with the favorable investment climate created for foreign companies, contribute to increasing the interest of Ukrainian business circles in building up cooperation on the promising Turkmen market through participation in infrastructure projects. The meeting participants paid particular attention to the cultural and humanitarian sphere. An exchange of views on the possibilities of interstate partnership in the field of science, education and health took place during the meeting. The meeting participants focused on the relevant aspects of international issues. The parties expressed satisfaction with the similarity of the positions and approaches of the two countries in resolving the important problems of our time, concerning, first of all, strengthening peace and global security, ensuring conditions for sustainable development in the regional and global level. At the end of the online meeting, the participants called for establishment of close contacts between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ukraine and organization of consultations on a regular basis.
