On June 1, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine D.Kuleba. During the negotiations, the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries discussed the current state and future prospects of the Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ukraine emphasized the importance of mutual support for the initiatives put forward by the two states at the platforms of reputable international organizations, primarily the UN and others. In this context, the parties noted the importance of continuing the inter-ministerial consultations as well as regular meetings between the representatives of the public and private sectors of the two countries, including in the online format. The ministers also discussed cooperation in combating COVID-19 and enhancing mechanisms for universal cooperation to jointly counter the threats of epidemics. The parties expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in various areas of mutually beneficial partnership, and intensifying the cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
