Turkmen-Tatar working group on cooperation hold online meeting

The Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan held online meeting with the Co-Chair of the Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov. The parties expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, successfully developing in frames of the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation. The meeting participants discussed the progress in implementing the agreements achieved on the outcomes of the VI meeting of the Working Group held in May 2019 in Kazan. Mechanic engineering and shipbuilding, petrochemicals, aviation industry, agriculture were specified among the priority areas of interest. As noted, economic reforms in Turkmenistan stipulates for the diversification of industry, its transition to an innovative platform, creation of new industries, and production of high-quality export-oriented products. In this aspect, the Turkmen side is interested in intensifying partnerships with the largest Tatarstan companies. Partnership in the scientific and educational sphere was specified as a promising areas of humanitarian cooperation. In the context of enhancing cultural interaction, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Albert Karimov proposed holding the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan in 2021, and also invited the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan to participate in the upcoming XVI Kazan International Muslim Film Festival on September 4-9, 2020. The parties scheduled the next, VII meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working Group on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation for the 4th quarter of 2020.
