The 4th round of the consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the French Republic took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the videoconference format. The meeting participants discussed the important issues of the political, diplomatic and trade-economic cooperation. The parties expressed satisfaction with the fruitful interaction of the two countries in the framework of international organizations. The representatives of France emphasized the importance of the initiatives, put forward by President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to maintain peace, security and stability in the region. The role of regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-French Commission on Economic Cooperation was underlined. Particular attention was paid to the issues on the development of the bilateral legal base. With regard to the cultural and humanitarian dialogue, the parties focused on the relations between universities, partnership in the field of archeology. In addition, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation in the space and water spheres, as well as on the possibilities of popularizing the French language in Turkmenistan.
