Online meeting of Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with Deputy Administrator of the UNDP and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS Mrs Mirjana Spoljaric Egger took place on June 11. Consequences of COVID-19 pandemic for the region and world as well as measures for their recovery have been discussed. In this regard, currency of initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for involvement of political and diplomatic mechanism in combating of global challenges like spread of coronavirus has been highlighted. Having exchanged the visions of various aspects of realization of the Infectious Disease Readiness and Response Plan of Turkmenistan, which was developed in partnership with the UN, the participants of video conference meeting spoke for coordination of efforts taken in this direction and development of relative Plan of Cooperation with the UNDP. The sides have made special mention of efficiency of cooperation in the sphere of health and environment protection, reviewed issues related to development of the UNDP Country Programme for Turkmenistan in 2021 – 2025.
