Regular session of Turkmen – Russian Intergovernmental commission is held in online format

Regular session of Intergovernmental Turkmen – Russian Commission for economic cooperation with participation of heads and representatives of the leading profile ministries and departments of two countries was held in online format. Opening the session, Co-chairmen of the Commission – Vice-premier, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk, stated steadfast character of bilateral cooperation, which is successfully developed in all directions, with delight. Conditions and perspectives of the partnership in trade and economic, financial and banking, oil and gas spheres, power energy, chemical industry, transport and communication complex, agriculture and other spheres have been discussed in details during the talks. Increment of volumes of trade and expansion of the variety, stimulation of investment activity, expansion of productive contacts between private structures were among the main subjects. Turkmen – Russian regional cooperation, which received new content recently, has been reviewed at the session. At the same time, constructive exchange of views on various aspects of activity of Russian companies in Turkmenistan, realization of joint projects taking into account major programmes expanded in our country and oriented to digitization of the economy, modernization and diversification of industrial sector, opening of high technological production facilities has been held. In particular, number of specific proposals on this account have been made by Minister of Industry and Construction Production Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Outcomes of work of Intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, which has an important role in realization of previous high-level agreements and significant potential of the partnership built on the principles of equal rights, mutual benefit and long-term have been summed up. The participants of the session have spoken for strengthening of cooperation in humanitarian, scientific and technological spheres, in particular, in education, science and culture, sport and tourism spheres. Positive practice of cooperation in health protection sphere has also been noted.
