Today, on June 24, when the events on occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War, in which Turkmenistan delegation takes part according to the request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, are held in the capital of Russian Federation, we recollect again the feat of our forefathers who have won peace and freedom. How to measure this heroic deed? By millions of lives, bloody dressings, days and nights filled with grief and suffering? By destiny of children left without fathers, tears of mothers who lost their sons? In fact, this feat is measured by our memory. It has been seven and half decades since it serves a strong and unbreakable tie between younger generation and generation of soldiers and rare front workers. It does not matter how many years will pass, how many words full of gratitude will be said, the young people will always be eternally in debt of those who gained such hard and such a great Victory not only exposing their lives to deadly danger but also giving their lives for their Motherland and their beloved ones. Yes, our youth have somebody to loom up to – the glory of our brave and valiant ancestors who fought for freedom and independence of the Motherland is written in gold letters in the history of the nation. Turkmen warriors have stood to death at the walls of legendary Brest Fortress, Moscow, Kiev, Smolensk, Leningrad, Stalingrad… Thousands of our fellow citizens demonstrated an exemplary resilience, loyalty to military duty, dedication to the Motherland in all fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Grandfather of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – Berdimuhamed Annayev, whose life serves as an example of true patriotism, bravery and courage to Turkmen youth, was among them. Today, almost every city of our country has monument of a memory of Turkmen warriors who were lost in those battles. however, active peace-making policy pursued by the Head of the State is the main imprescriptible monument of the glory of exemplary feat of our fellow citizens. Important international initiatives, which Turkmen leader proposes from the high tribune of the UN and other competent forums, are also aimed at strengthening of peace and security. This policy, which is based on high humanistic traditions of glorious ancestors, is reflected today in specific deeds, having gained highest international authority of Turkmenistan and being a guarantee of peaceful and prosperous life of our people. The relations between the generations thankful for prosperous life and peace on the planet do not break year after year. While this relation is continued, the glory of our heroes, who stood to death defending the Motherland, their cities, villages, family, beloved ones, will live as the memory is a road from the past to the future… And this memory dictated poetry dedication to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to all soldiers who have not come back bloodstained battlefields.
