On June 23, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Head of the Representative Office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Ashgabat Fatih Turkmenoglu. The parties exchanged views on the ongoing projects in the fields of energy and transport among others. The importance of a constructive partnership within the framework of the EBRD Country Strategy for Turkmenistan for 2019-2024 was underlined. The support for small and medium-sized businesses was specified among the priorities of cooperation. On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Country Director of the Permanent Mission of the Asian Development Bank in Turkmenistan, Chang Ching Yu. Priority areas of cooperation, including the implementation of promising projects were discussed during the meeting. In particular, the possibilities of enhancing partnerships in the banking, energy and transport sectors, as well as support of entrepreneurship were discussed. During the meeting, the emphasis was placed on the importance of consolidating efforts to overcome the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
