Aspects of expansion of cooperation were reviewed at the 19th session of Turkmenistan – European Union Joint Committee held in online format in the Ministry of Finances and Economy yesterday. The agenda of the meeting with participation of heads and representatives of relative profile structures of EU, number of ministries and profile departments and business circles of Turkmenistan, included wide range of subjects related to cooperation in trade and economic spheres, private sector and other perspective directions. In this context, the sides have analysed results of joint activity, condition of mutual trade and reviewed the capabilities of its increment. At the same time, partnership in energy transport and communication sectors, agricultural complex as well as in humanitarian sphere and ecology were the subject of interested exchange of visions. The importance of consolidation of efforts for efficient counteraction against COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and recovery after its negative impact on macroeconomic situation has been highlighted. For this purpose, the sides agreed on exchange of technological and informational resources. The participants of online meeting have shared the opinions on expansion of cooperation in education and health protection where special attention is paid to training and improvement of qualification of specialists. Cooperation with partners from European Union in agriculture is aimed at active implementation of advanced technologies and achievement of profile science, improvement of efficiency of agricultural complex and stimulation of entrepreneurship in its profile segments. Ecological aspect of partnership has also been highlighted during the session. It was stated that Turkmenistan and European Union have been working successfully throughout the years under national and regional projects. Organization of the 20th session of Turkmenistan – EU Joint Committee in 2020 has also been planned.
