Deputy Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rshid Meredov held online meeting with Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General, Jens Wandel. The parties discussed key vectors of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN and its specialized structures. In particular, the importance of consolidated efforts to counteract the COVID-19 pandemic and to overcome the socio-economic consequences caused by it was underlined. In this regard, the steps taken by Turkmenistan to prevent dangerous diseases, including the activities of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases, the implementation of the Preparedness and Response Plan of Turkmenistan for Acute Infectious Disease, as well as the country's accession to the COVID-19 Technology Access Pool were specified. The aspects of supporting the logistic system to combat the pandemic were discussed. The agenda of the meeting included the implementation of joint projects and programmes, as well as the prospects for dialogue between Turkmenistan and the UN.
