President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani. Having warmly greeted each other, the Heads of two state highlighted high level of Turkmen – Afghan dialog. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his birthday and reaching of age of the Prophet, which is special date in Muslim world, and wished good health for long years and big success in his noble activity for prosperity of the country and happiness of people. It was mentioned that Afghanistan highly appreciates creative foreign policy of Turkmen leader, which is based on the principles of positive neutrality and is an important factor of supporting of peace, security and stability in the region. Having expressed gratitude for congratulation and good wishes, the Head of turkmenistan stated with delight that Turkmen – Afghan cooperation is developed gradually both in bilateral format as well as under competent international organizations based on the principles of constructiveness, mutual trust and support. During the conversation, the leaders of two countries highlighted the presence of wide opportunities for expansion of fruitful partnership in trade and economic spheres as well as in such strategic directions as energy and transport. In this regard, it was noted that beneficial geographic location of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are very important in the formation of new transit and transport corridors in the region. Important energy project of construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India gas line, which will be significant input to the development of interstate and interregional cooperation, is an example of efficient consolidation of efforts in fuel and energy complex taking into account long-term perspective. In the end of telephone conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Mohammad Ashraf Ghani wished health and success to each other and prosperity to fraternal Turkmen and Afghan people.
