Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov had video conference talks with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba. During the talks, the sides have exchanged the opinions on agenda of bilateral cooperation as well as discussed aspects of development of dialog in political and diplomatic sphere. Importance of improvement of normative and legal base of interstate cooperation has been noted. The heads of the Foreign Ministries of two countries have stated similarity of positions in number of aspects of international agenda. High level of cooperation under international structures, especially under the United Nations Organization, has been noted. In this regard, the sides have expressed the willingness to support initiatives proposed by both countries, which are aimed at provision of stable peace and development. In the context of discussion of perspectives of multidimensional partnership, the importance of activity of Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen – Ukrainian Commission for economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation has been noted. Expansion of productive relations between the government structures and representatives of business circles of two countries were among the main subjects of consultations. In this context, positive practice of work of Ukrainian companies in Turkmenistan, especially in construction sphere and supply of railroad equipment, has been noted. The foreign ministers have expressed the intent of two countries to activate dialog in humanitarian sphere. Gratitude has been expressed to Ukrainian side for support rendered to Turkmen citizens who study in the universities of friendly country. By the outcomes of the talks, the sides have signed the Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Ukraine in 2020 – 2021.
