Today, a nationwide tree-planting campaign has started in Turkmenistan with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The massive ecological campaign seeks to create new gardens and parks across the country, to benefit the environment, and to make every corner of Turkmen land sprawl with lush green vegetation. In the morning, prior to the noble deed, the President of Turkmenistan mounted a beautiful horse named Khanbeg and rode out to the venue of tree-planting. The head of state planted a Turkmen juniper tree giving a symbolic start to a new phase of the tree-planting efforts. As this year marks the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality - a very important date for the country, a total of 25 million trees will be planted countrywide. During the event, the nation’s leader also planted 30 young pine trees. This was highly meaningful and symbolized the beginning of extensive preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence. Those taking part in the event followed the lead of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and enthusiastically planted 30 seedlings each. Representatives of nearly all sectors of the national economy participated in the tree-planting initiative aimed to make our country even more beautiful. Not only do the countrywide mass tree-planting efforts in the spring and autumn help to enhance our country’s natural beauty, but they also contribute to environmental conservation. Planting trees is regarded as a noble act by Turkmens. Therefore, all people, young and old alike, actively participate in tree-planting yovars. To mark the occasion, cultural figures and performing artists gave a festive concert. Speaking to the attendees, the nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that our compatriots had done a good deed by planting young trees in one of the picturesque valleys of Turkmen land. Digging wells, building roads and planting trees are worthy endeavors, the President of Turkmenistan said, highlighting that those who plant trees make a big contribution to the eternity of the world and immortalize themselves in their native country. Melodies and songs make people feel more invigorated and uplifted after doing something worthy, the head of state said before the concert. The concert featured songs glorifying the achievements of the epoch of power and happiness inseparably associated with the name of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov – the Hero of Turkmenistan, the Arkadag of the whole nation, who has opened new chapters in the country’s contemporary history. The song ‘Güller Açýar Türkmenistan!’ sung together by all the participants was a rousing finale to the concert. Its elevated lyrics and highly emotional melody are full of pride for the achievements and glorious future of the country, which is advancing steadily on the path of creation and progress under the wise leadership of the head of state. Saying goodbye, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the tree-planting event participants, and then left the venue.
