Regular meeting of the secretaries of security councils of the CIS country members – Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, has been held with participation of the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee and the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlights that being an associated member of the CIS, Turkmenistan takes an active part in the activities of the Commonwealth. During the session, the sides have shared constructive opinions on the counteracting biological threats in the CIS, consolidation of efforts in activation of interstate cooperation, which is aimed at combating current pandemic situation and minimization of its social and economic impacts. Intensification of cooperation in countering modern challenges and threats in informational security as well as strengthening of the cyberspace potential of the states were separate subjects of discussion. The participants of the session have also exchanged the views on artificial intellect and its importance in provision of national security. Discussing the regional stability, the necessity of further consolidation of efforts in provision of peace and stability in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has been highlighted. In this regard, goodwill policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, owing to which Turkmenistan takes an active part in stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan, comprehensively supports peaceful inter-Afghan talks and is willing to provide its political space for the talks with participation of all interested sides, has been highly appreciated.
