An online meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Our country was represented by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, R. Meredov, and Russia - by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation A. Overchuk. The meeting was also attended by the heads of a number of sectoral ministries and departments of the two states. Reaffirming the high level of the Turkmen-Russian relations, the meeting participants discussed the current situation and prospects for the development of cooperation, in particular, the legal framework, trade and economic partnership, cooperation in the industrial and financial and banking spheres. The parties also focused on joint work in the field of geology. On the outcomes of the meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the electric power industry was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
