December 10. The Head of the Foreign Ministry of our country took part in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which was chaired by Uzbekistan and held in video conference format. Heads of the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan as well as the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee have reviewed current issues of multilateral cooperation, shared the visions on achieved results and new directions of cooperation, international and regional problems. Documents, which are planned to be adopted at the regular session of the Council of the Heads of the CIS country members planned to be held on December 18 have been also discussed. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov repeatedly said that today, closer coordination of cooperation and its bringing to systematic level with clearly outlined agenda are required. Activation of cooperation between foreign departments of our countries is one of the ways to achieve this goal. As is known, Turkmen leader has proposed this initiatives at the session of the Council of the Heads of the CIS country members on October 11, 2017. Elaborating on this proposal, Turkmen side has developed the draft Action Program of activation of partnership between foreign departments of the CIS country member, which was adopted on October 10, 2019 at the session of the Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers in Ashgabat. The plan of multi-level consultation between foreign departments under the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2021 has been brought out to the agenda of the current session. The document is aimed at strengthening of cooperation between foreign ministries and definition of coordinated approaches to the main subjects of the global agenda and its adoption has become a new step toward implementation of the above-mentioned initiative of the President of Turkmenistan. Draft Joint Statement of the CIS country members on occasion of the 75th anniversary of the UN has also been adopted at the session. Draft Joint Statement of the heads of the state members on cooperation in provision of international informational security is another important document adopted by the ministers. New statement is aimed at consolidation of efforts of the CIS countries in prevention of illegal use of information and communication technologies, development of common approaches to definition of the main challenges in informational sphere, outlines of join work for recovery of the challenges in near future. Turkmenistan considers development of humanitarian cooperation between the countries and peoples as an important objective. In this context, Turkmen side has also welcomed and supported the decision of declaration of 2022 as the Year of national art and cultural heritage and 2023 as the Year of Russian language as a language in international communication. All these multilateral documents, which were joined by Turkmenistan, are to give new dynamics to traditional fruitful dialog in the CIS format, with members of which our country is united by old good relations and friendship. Successful chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2012 and 2019 allowed increasing the efficiency of cooperation, establishing new contacts and using big capabilities of joint work in practical sphere.
