The ceremony of lighting up the main New Year’s Tree of the country took place on December 15, marking the beginning of the New Year’s celebrations. By tradition, the venue for the New Year's celebrations was the square in front of the ""Älem"" Cultural and Entertainment Center, where the 41-meter New Year’s Tree crowned with an eight-pointed star and the figures – 2021 was installed. Decorated with colorful balls, beads, firecrackers, sparkling tinsel and garlands, it has become one of the most attractive symbols of the coming year. As never before, people all around the world are waiting for the New Year with the hope for good changes and prosperous life. Lighting up the main New Year’s Tree is the ceremony steeped in history of fabulous miracles, and therefore requires a special creative approach from the organizers of the holiday. Every year, Ayaz Baba and his granddaughter Garpamyk have a new special route to the New Year’s Tree around the Turkmen capital. Their cabriolet is accompanied by young residents of the Turkmen capital in an elegant double-decker bus. This year, the route started from the intersection of Taslama Street and Magtymguly Avenue, where the grand opening of a large complex of social and cultural facilities, built as part of the 16th turn of the development of the Turkmen capital, took place quite recently. The fairytale caravan arrived at the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Center. An arch sparkling with garlands opens the entrance to a wonderful country, where guests are greeted by heroes of Turkmen fairy tales and famous cartoons. The alleys leading to the green beauty have turned into paths of an extraordinary kingdom, decorated with snow-white New Year’s trees, covered with sparkling electric flashlights. The small houses, figures of fairy-tale heroes, a good-natured bull - the symbol of the New Year - are literally drowned in multi-colored lights. Music, magnificent New Year's decorations create a unique atmosphere of a kind and bright holiday on the square. Children in costumes of twelve animals - symbols of the year according to the Eastern calendar greeted Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk. On behalf of the young people of Turkmenistan, Ayaz Baba and his companion Garpamyk addressed heartfelt congratulations on the coming New Year to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Turkmen people, wishing happiness, health, great success in the implementation of progressive transformations in the name of the well-being and prosperity of the Motherland. And, of course, the culmination of the merry New Year's performance was lighting up of the New Year’s Tree. Happy, clear voices of the children are the best evidence of the country's well-being, our confidence in the present and the future of our independent Motherland. Children received wonderful gifts in memory of the unforgettable holiday on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The ceremonies of lighting up the New Year’s Trees took place on the main squares of cities and villages all around the country. Adults and children will remember this wonderful fabulous holiday for a long time.
