Another round of election campaign – nomination of candidates to the members of the People’s Council of National Assembly, is finished in Turkmenistan.

According to Electoral Code of the country, the candidacies of aspirants, which number was not limited, have been discussed at the sessions of regional, district and city People’s Councils under campaign, which started on February 6. Each participant has used his legal right to make proposals, take part in discussions, support or reject the candidacies as well as to propose himself of herself to review as a possible candidate.

The most deserved people’s representatives have been delegated to national body of legislative power. Registration of the candidates will be finished on March 7.

As of today, 20 candidates has been registered in Ahal Region and 21 candidate in Balkan Region for the elections to the members of the People’s Council of National Assembly, which are to be held on the last Sunday of March 2021, the year marked with slogan “Turkmenistan – Home of Peace and Trust”.

Relative documents have been handed over to the Central Election and Referendum Commission of Turkmenistan in solemn atmosphere. Therefore, current election campaign is held on the principles of democracy, transparency, multi-party choice and wide alternative basis.
