Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a videoconference meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev.
The meeting agenda included the key issues of the interstate dialogue, in particular, the aspects of cooperation in the political, diplomatic, as well as in the trade, economic and humanitarian fields were discussed.
Meeting participants underlined the importance of intensifying political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. The parties emphasized the similarity of the positions of the two countries on major regional and international issues, exchanged views on aspects of partnership within the UN, ECO, CIS and other authoritative international organizations.
Discussing the prospects for trade and economic cooperation, the priorities of partnership in the fields of energy, transport and agriculture were outlined. In this regard, mutual interest was expressed in holding on regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation.
Touching upon the agenda of partnership in the humanitarian sphere, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries expressed satisfaction with the efficiency of the dialogue in the area of education, culture and sports and considered the possibilities of organizing meetings of specialists in these areas this year.
