The spring tree planting campaign has been started in Turkmenistan with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Nationwide action of tree planting was timed to National Spring Holiday – International Nowruz Day.

Early in the morning, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has come by vehicle to site next to the Garagum fashionable hotel with multi-profile business center.

Upon arrival, Turkmen leader was met by the Speaker of the Mejlis, vice-premiers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, public organizations, universities and mass media and students.

In the solemn atmosphere, the State Flag of Turkmenistan has been hoisted under the thundering sounds of National anthem song.

Further, having planted a young tree in new park, which is made in the northern part of the capital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave start to the spring tree planting campaign, which is timed to National Spring Holiday.

Following an example of the President of Turkmenistan, all participants of the action have started planting young trees in new park, which shortly would spread in this part of Ashgabat where another business, social and cultural center of the capital, which celebrates its 140^th anniversary this year, is being made.

It is worth to mention that the start of the spring tree planting campaign in our country is timed to National Spring Holiday every year, which is very symbolical.

This holiday, which embodies the triumph of life, is widely celebrated all over the world. Big significance of Nowruz, which glorifies original traditions and customs of peoples of the East including Turkmen nation, is indicated by its inclusion to the UNESCO Cultural Intangible Heritage List and by establishment of the high status of international holiday – the Day of solidarity and good neighborliness relations, humanitarian cooperation and understanding between the nations.

Careful treatment of the environment is a priority of the government policy of Turkmenistan. The utmost attention is paid to the ecology in our country as to a significant aspect of 2030 Global Agenda adopted by the UN and one of the key factors of wealthy life of people.

At first, this is related to rational use of land and water resources, combating desertification, preservation of unique natural place, protection of marine environment and biodiversity of the Caspian Sea and many other current objectives.

National forest program, which provides the formation of green belts around the cities and villages, along highways and railroads, is successfully implemented in the country for the provision of ecological safety both in national and global scale.

As is known, the head of the state has signed the Resolution at the extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 12 assigning to ensure planting of deciduous, coniferous, fruit and vine trees in Turkmenistan, including the provision for the ministries and profile departments and Ashgabat administration to provide 10 million tree seedlings, administrations of the regions – 20 million tree seedlings.

According to the document, ministries, profile departments, regional and Ashgabat’s administrations are assigned to provide planting of fruit and vine trees on separate land plots as well as drip irrigation of deciduous, coniferous, fruit and vine trees.

Ashgabat is referred as to the garden city, which please an eye with freshness and green plantation, revitalizing fountains even in hot summer days.

Beautiful trees as well as bright flower carpets have become an integral part of the capital’s outskirts. Areas occupied by juniper, coniferous and deciduous trees are expanded in the Kopetdag foothills. Owing to this fact, number of various birds and animals, including rare species, is growing in this place in the last years.

Performance of Turkmen artists – musicians, singers, folk bands, has adorned current event. Stirring tunes and dances, have added special charm in the palette of National Spring Holiday.

Having wished success to the participants of noble action held in the year of celebration of the 30^th anniversary of independence and 140^th anniversary of Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left the place of event.
