President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has taken part in flower laying ceremony to the monument of “People’s Memory” memorial complex.

It is worth to mention that honoring the veterans, who fought in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, as well as workers of the rare front and widows of the soldiers were held all around the country. Every year, the war veterans and widows of lost warriors received monetary prizes and valuable gift on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.

Together with other fraternal peoples, brave sons and daughters of our nation have stood against hard ordeals of the war. Grandfather of the head of the State, Berdymuhamed Annayev, whose life serves as example of patriotism and dedication to his duty for our youth, was among them.

Thousands of our fellow countrymen were awarded with combat orders and medals, conferred with tittles of the Hero for honor and courage demonstrated at the battlefields of one of the cruelest wars in the history of humanity. The names of national heroes are perpetuated in memorial books “Memory” and “Glory”.

Young warriors – the successors of military traditions of Turkmen people, patriotic advises of our brave ancestors, freeze on watch in the Guard of Honor.

Beautiful flower wreaths are put to the pedestals of magnificent monuments, which became sacred place of military glory and people’s memory.

Further, all participants of the ceremony put their flowers. Students, grand and great grandsons of the heroes have also come to bow their heads to the feat of National Heroes.

After flower laying ceremony, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and all participants went to special facility for fast breaking ceremony.

Having taken special place, Turkmen leader addressed the participants with speech. Having greeted the participants of fast breaking ceremony, the head of the state noted that events, which are our sacred duty, are held in “People’s Memory” memorial complex every year.

Paying tribute to the past, we honor the memory of those who lost for the Motherland at the «Milletiň ogullary» monument, killed in the Great Patriotic War at «Baky şöhrat» memorial, victims of the Ashgabat Earthquake at «Ruhy tagzym» monument, - the head of the state said.

On this day, we honor the memory of sons and daughters of the Motherland who were killed in the Great Patriotic War 1941 – 1945 as well as the memory of those who lost relatives and friends and who suffered for the freedom of Motherland.

We paid tribute the memory of our fellow countrymen, who lost their lives during natural disaster, which stroke Ashgabat in 1948 in hard time for our people, head of the state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued.

The President highlighted that remembering the victims of those tragic events in the Holy month of Ramadan, we pray for their life rest in peace in paradise.

On the days of the Holy month of Ramadan, we participate in fast breaking food donation ceremony. Our ancestors used to say: “The one who remembers departed will gain nobility”. Following these sacred traditions, we continue their way, Turkmen leader stated.

“Let the Almighty accept the prayers given to the memory of hobble sons and daughters of the Motherland who lost and who is alive!”, - the President of Turkmenistan said.

After his speech, the head of the state has asked the Mufti of the country to read a prayer. The food was served thereafter. The prayer for peace and security in Turkmen land, solidarity of people and prosperity of the country has been said after the meal.

 The flower laying ceremonies and food donations have been given in all cities and villages of the country on occasion of remarkable date – the 76^th anniversary of the Great Victory.
