The head of the state has addressed a greeting message to the participants of celebration events and all fellow countrymen on occasion of Turkmen Carpet Day observed on the last Sunday of May and XXI session of the World Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs Association and International Conference “Turkmen Carpet – Model of Beauty” as well as Trade complex exhibition timed to the celebration.

“National carpets, which were made better throughout the centuries and became a part of Turkmen’s life, are our pride and symbols of home. Carpets, which making art is registered in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, are the monuments of an excellent art, which is recognized all over the world.

Carpet patterns of national symbols express the commitment of Turkmen people to advices of the ancestors and their pride of current achievements and confidence in light future.

The government pays special attention to improvement of glorious art of carpet making and its popularization all over the world. Big work is carried out for finding, preservation and restoration of ancient samples of carpets. This is brightly indicated by opening of new carpet production facilities in the country, conferring of the state awards to skillful carpet makers and honoring of their honest work.

Organization of exhibition of achievements of national trade complex in the days of events on occasion of Turkmen Carpet Day has special importance as the Great Silk Road, which once upon a time run across Turkmen land, has played a key role in popularization of our beautiful carpets. Today, this ancient trade route is restored in new format, which is very important in development of multidimensional trade and economic cooperation.

We will continue carrying out large-scale activity for satisfaction of consumers’ demand on quality, eco-friendly and competitive production, its promotion in the world markets as well as for increment of export potential of Turkmen state”, - the message highlights.

It is mentioned in the message that 2021 is filled with remarkable dates and events for our country. We widely celebrate the 30^th anniversary of independence of Turkmen state this year. The achievements of the country in all spheres are reflected in ceremonial events organized in our country and abroad on occasion of this holiday.

For relatively short historical period, our country has entered the rank of economically powerful states, established beneficial relations in trade, economy, science, education and culture. Further improvement of authority of our neutral Motherland in the world arena is our priority target.

I am confident that current, XXI session of the World Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs Association and International Conference “Turkmen Carpet – Model of Beauty” as well as the exhibition of achievements of trade complex will give strong impulse to development of national textile industry, increment of local and foreign trade, popularization of Turkmen handmade carpet art.

Finishing his message, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated fellow countrymen on Turkmen Carpet Day and addressed wishes of strong health, longevity, happiness, family wealth and big success in work.
