President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has sent his heartfelt congratulations to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on his re-election to office.

In his congratulatory message, on behalf of the nation, the Government of Turkmenistan and personally, the head of state wished the UN Secretary-General every success.

“Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the established relations with the United Nations Organization whose work covers major international issues of today”, the nation’s leader stressed.

The President of Turkmenistan has also noted that the United Nations serves today as an effective and leading international organization for tackling global issues on the principle of equality and in compliance with the rules of international law, maintaining international peace and order and promoting cooperation between countries.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his confidence that after being re-elected as UN Secretary General António Guterres will continue to make his contribution to enhancing the effectiveness of the Organization’s activities, strengthening its role in addressing today’s key issues and fostering the comprehensive collaboration between Turkmenistan and the United Nations.
