Dear workers water management!

I sincerely congratulate you on the commissioning of a new reservoir with a volume of 18 million cubic meters in the Bereket etrap of the Balkan velayat in the year of the era of power and happiness, the motto of which is "Turkmenistan is the Motherland of Peace and Trust", on the eve of the glorious 30th anniversary of independence of the Motherland!

Water is sacred, it is the source of life and prosperity, it revives nature, turns our expanses into a flourishing and fertile land. That is why our ancestors, who knew the value of water well and knew how to conserve it, compared every drop of water with a grain of gold. They also created wonderful sayings on the topic of water: “Earth with water is a flower garden, without water is a desert”, “Where water gathers, a lake forms, people gather, a village is formed”, which perfectly reflect the attitude of the Turkmen people to water as a source of life.

Our ancestors, who have perfected farming technologies since ancient times, made a lot of efforts to improve the arid climate, turn pastures into green meadows.

This is visibly evidenced by man-made wells, kanats, reservoirs, sardobas, canals, lakes, irrigation ditches and other hydraulic structures in the steppes, mountainous and flat terrain.

The reservoir, built in the Bereket etrap of the Balkan velayat, will allow collecting water in the lower reaches of the Karakum River in autumn and winter, regulating its flow, and supplying the velayat's agricultural fields with water for irrigation.

Dear water workers!

Our ancestors came up with effective ways to bring life-giving moisture to an absolutely waterless area. Following the noble tradition of a thoughtful approach to water use, today our country is implementing large-scale program measures aimed at saving and rational use of water resources. In recent years, a great deal of work has been done to preserve this priceless wealth of the country and prudent use of water. Saving technologies and the latest scientific achievements are being introduced into production; advanced experience is widely used in the construction of water facilities and systems.

We have set ourselves important tasks to provide the population with clean drinking water. Proceeding from this, the "General program for providing the settlements of Turkmenistan with clean drinking water" was adopted. Today, large-scale measures are being implemented in this direction, a clear example is the planned construction and commissioning of modern drinking water plants and water treatment facilities in various parts of our sunny region.

In an era of power and happiness, large-scale work continues to build new and increase the volume of existing reservoirs, designed to improve the country's water supply and ensure the accumulation of sufficient water reserves.

Along with this, the construction of the Turkmen lake "Altyn asyr" had a significant impact on the improvement of the ecological situation in the country. Thanks to the well-organized work of drainage collectors, saline waters from the cultivated fields of the velayats flow into the lake, which leads to a decrease in the level of groundwater, an improvement in the land reclamation state and, as a result, to an increase in the yield of agricultural crops, enrichment of the flora and fauna of the Karakum desert. It also creates favorable conditions for the development of livestock and fish farming near the lake and along its canals.

The flourishing of cities and villages in the era of power and happiness, their transformation into blooming oases is a vivid confirmation of the abundance of water and its effective use in our country. We will continue to carry out large-scale work in order to further improve the social and everyday level of our native people, improve activities for the development of the water sector and strengthen its material and technical base.
