Today at the International Airport of the capital, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in our country to participate in the 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

The presidents of the two countries were photographed against the background of the State flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan exchanged views on a number of issues of the regional and international agenda of mutual interest. Emphasizing the similarity or coincidence of the views of the parties in the field of pressing problems of our time, the interlocutors reaffirmed the adherence of the neighboring countries to the course of further rapprochement and the establishment of a close partnership in order to ensure universal peace, security and sustainable development.

The heads of state noted with satisfaction the commonality of views on the preservation of the ecological well-being of the Caspian Sea, the productivity of the meetings and consultations systematically held by the relevant departments of the Caspian countries on the protection of the biological diversity of this unique reservoir.

At the end of the meeting, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliyev expressed their firm intention to build up fruitful relations in every possible way in the interests of the fraternal peoples of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

After singing the Hymns of the two states, the head of Azerbaijan went to the venue of the 15th Summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation - a fashionable hotel with a multi-profile business center "Garagum".
