Meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan Commission

The 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation took place in Ashgabat.

Before the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, the Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation from the Kazakh side.

During the conversation, a wide range of issues on cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian directions were considered.

It was especially emphasized that the interaction of the two countries in recent years had acquired a new quality and content. Meeting participants focused on the regular character of top-level meetings, which contribute to deepening traditionally friendly relations in all spheres of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the meeting, taking into account the enormous potential of the two countries, special emphasis was placed on the development of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in the field of industry, transport and communications, in particular, the expansion of international and regional road, rail and sea transportation with the active involvement of public and private sectors of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The agenda of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, which was also attended by the heads and representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the two countries, focused on a wide range of issues related to the implementation of existing interstate agreements, priority areas for further development productive partnership.

The parties called for deepening cultural, scientific and educational contacts and developing cooperation in the field of healthcare and medicine, which are an effective mechanism for diversifying mutually beneficial partnership.
