Today, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov.

Having warmly welcomed the head of the largest region of the friendly country, the leader of the nation noted with satisfaction the dynamic and fruitful nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, which is successfully developing within the framework of the interstate dialogue with the Russian Federation.

It was noted that Tatarstan is traditionally one of the most active and reliable partners of Turkmenistan, with long-standing economic and cultural ties based on historically established good neighborly relations, strong bonds of trust and respect.

During the conversation, a thorough exchange of views took place on the current state and priorities for further fruitful cooperation, which has great prospects, taking into account the existing interest, supported by an impressive potential and extensive experience of many years of joint work in the implementation of a number of large-scale projects.

As the Turkmen leader emphasized, the high level of trust and mutual understanding inherent in Turkmen-Tatarstan relations is a solid basis for the constructive development of bilateral dialogue in various fields

Thus, a worthy example of this is the mutually beneficial cooperation of Turkmenistan with the largest companies of Tatarstan - OJSC KamAZ and Tatneft, KER-Holding, Kazan Helicopter Plant, etc.

Speaking about the interest of the business circles of Tatarstan in expanding their presence in the promising Turkmen market, President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the favorable investment climate created in the country and the high international prestige of Turkmenistan as a reliable partner strictly following its obligations served this purpose.

Noting with satisfaction the established productive cooperation in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, the interlocutors noted that this is largely facilitated by regular bilateral meetings and high-level negotiations that serve to strengthen the bridges of friendship and understanding between the fraternal peoples of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Confirming the readiness of the parties to further intensify cooperation in a wide range of areas, the interlocutors discussed specific steps to promote the agreements reached earlier, the implementation of which will give an additional impetus to deepening ties in various fields.

As stated, in the light of the development of trade and economic relations, an important role is given to the activities of the Turkmen-Tatarstan working group on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which monitors the entire spectrum of bilateral contacts.

As the Turkmen leader emphasized, we expect concrete proposals from the Joint Working Group on increasing the volume and diversification of mutual trade, as well as implementing large projects in the field of industry and high technologies.

An equally significant aspect of Turkmen-Tatarstan relations is cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including through science and education, and the training of highly qualified personnel. As you know, today a large number of students from our country study at the leading universities of Tatarstan.

Taking the opportunity, the head of the Turkmen state expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for his huge personal contribution to the development and strengthening of traditionally friendly relations and confirmed the interest of the Turkmen side in further building up mutually beneficial partnership.
