Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) Binali Yildirim, who arrived in Turkmenistan at the head of a representative delegation.

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to the development of traditionally friendly bilateral relations, seeing Turkey as a sincere friend, reliable partner and like-minded person in resolving many topical issues of regional and international politics. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the fruitfulness of the established cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation plays an important role in the progressive development of the interstate dialogue. Taking into account the centuries-old historical and cultural relations that have linked the peoples of the two fraternal countries for many centuries, close cooperation in the humanitarian sphere is also of great importance. Days of Culture are held on a regular basis, masters of arts take an active mutual part in other particularly significant cultural events held in both countries. The Turkmen-Turkish Council for Education carries out fruitful activities; many students from Turkmenistan study in Turkey.

In conclusion, after exchanging mutual congratulations on the occasion of the glorious date marked this year - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yildirim expressed mutual confidence in the steady strengthening of the traditional relations of friendship and brotherhood between Turkmenistan and Turkey.
