The 6^th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in the capital today with the participation of the heads of the leading ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and a representative delegation headed by the Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay, who arrived in our country.

During the meeting, the fruitful nature and growing dynamics of bilateral relations in the trade and economic field, the important role of the joint Intergovernmental Commission in the development of effective cooperation between the two countries were emphasized.

Expressing sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the attention to the current meeting and the warm welcome, the head of the Turkish delegation noted that the results of the next meeting will facilitate the further expansion of interstate cooperation.

In this regard, it was noted with satisfaction that the bilateral partnership is consistently and actively developing on the basis of the principles of friendship and brotherhood, full understanding and close mutual support. Today, the multifaceted Turkmen-Turkish cooperation is carried out at a high level in almost all areas.

Among the relevant areas of cooperation, such important spheres for both states as construction and building materials industry, energy, transport, food industry, agriculture, strengthening mutual contacts through business and entrepreneurial structures were identified. In this regard, the issues of further promotion and expansion of the range of products of Turkmen and Turkish manufacturers in the markets of the two countries were discussed.

Expressing the unwavering commitment of Turkmenistan and Turkey to centuries-old good-neighborly ties, the members of the Commission outlined a number of concrete steps to diversify cooperation in all promising areas. It was noted that the expansion of contacts will be facilitated by the participation of representatives of the two countries in international conferences and other forums organized in Turkmenistan and Turkey.

The final protocol was signed according to the results of the Commission meeting.

The Turkmen-Turkish business forum was also held today, the main topic of which was the intensification of bilateral partnership in the context of long-term plans for the future.

Within the framework of an interested exchange of views, representatives of the business circles of the Republic of Turkey, noting the prospects of the Turkmen market, where all conditions for successful investment activities have been created, expressed their readiness to establish new areas of mutually beneficial trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, as well as to enter into cooperation in other sectors.
