The third volume of the book “Hatyra” (“Memory”) is dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who heroically fought in the battles for the Motherland in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, who fell on the battlefields, died from injuries in hospitals, and also went missing.

The publication opens with an Address by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which celebrates the heroism of our courageous fathers and grandfathers, which has become an exemplary school of selfless service to the sacred Motherland, native people and all mankind.

As the head of state emphasizes, the heroes who set an example of courage and courage in the unprecedented battles of 1941-1945 will live forever in our hearts and be awarded eternal glory and honor!

The reprint of the third volume of this large-scale work, previously published in the period 1993-1998, was carried out this year, which is held under the motto "The era of the people with Arkadag." This issue pays tribute to the memory of the heroes of Turkmenistan from the Dashoguz velayat.

Among the advantages of the new book is the systematization of existing data, their addition and placement in alphabetical order, which facilitates access to information.

Every year it becomes more and more obvious that thanks to the feat of people, including our compatriots, who have shown unprecedented strength of the human spirit, unprecedented selflessness and patriotism, solidarity and selflessness, we and our children today live happily under a peaceful sky. And therefore, our task is to preserve historical memory, not to leave a single dead soldier in oblivion, to pay tribute to the living veterans of war and labor, to educate the youth by their example.

The third volume includes documentary materials of the military commissariats of Turkmenistan and other CIS countries, social security departments of cities and etraps of the Dashoguz velayat, memoirs of war veterans, personal data, scientific publications, periodicals, as well as information from relatives.

According to archival data, over 200,000 soldiers went to the front from Turkmenistan during the years of the war, including about 30,000 from the Dashoguz velayat. Of these, more than 8 thousand people died and went missing.

The book contains letters-triangles, poems with a special emotional intensity, created both during the war years and today.

It should be noted that in the new edition, in addition to information about the date and place of birth, death and burial, the rank of a soldier, data are provided on the place and year of his conscription into the army.

The third volume was supplemented with photo illustrations telling not only about the exploits of the Turkmen warriors, but also about the heroic everyday life in the rear, where women and children brought the long-awaited Victory closer with their selfless work, as well as photographs of memorial monuments located in the region found in the archives.

All these documents testify to the immortal feat of the courageous sons of the Turkmen people.

Thus, the third volume, like the book "Hatyra" as a whole, will serve to perpetuate the memory of that heroic time and is designed for a wide readership. Prepared for printing by the Main Archive Department under the Cabinet of Ministers, it was published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service at a high printing level.
