On November 9, the International Investment Forum took place in the Congress Center of the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. It brought together representatives of our country’s state and private institutions, authoritative financial organizations and leading foreign companies from nearly twenty countries. Prior to the plenary meeting, a film was shown to the guests about Turkmenistan’s achievements and its strategic development plans aimed at strengthening productive partnership with different countries, world’s leading companies and manufacturers, authoritative financial organizations. The investment forum agenda was mainly focused on the prospects for investment and innovative cooperation in the national economy’s key sectors, whose ever-growing potential is based on the improvement of export competitiveness, technological renovation of the existing enterprises, and building of modern production facilities. As Turkmen representatives noted in their speeches, our country is successfully advancing business contacts with foreign companies in various sectors. The steady-rising macroeconomic indicators, the country has demonstrated over recent years, the experts of international financial organizations assess as steady and favorably predictable. The comprehensive reforms implemented in different sectors of the economy make our country’s investment climate more and more attractive. In turn, foreign participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to attend the forum. Among them were Head of the EBRD Office in Turkmenistan Engin Goksu, USAID Turkmenistan Regional Director Christopher Miller, Chairman of the Turkish-Turkmen Business Council Halil Avci, Executive Director of the Bulgarian-Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nikolay Stratiev, and others. As the forum attendees stressed, favorable conditions and benefits provided in our country for successful activities of foreign businessmen, rapid industrialization of the industrial sector, and state support for private businesses motivate the growing interest of global business communities in expanding mutually advantageous partnership. Panel sessions of the constructive forum, its bilateral meetings, in which representatives of foreign companies, international financial organizations and state agencies of Turkmenistan, local entrepreneurs took part, were focused on the prospects for advancing interest-based cooperation.
