First Global Conference on Sustainable Transport System started in the Trade and Union Camber of the country in Ashgabat. The Forum, which agenda includes broad spectrum of subjects related to cooperation in such strategic direction as transport, is held under the UN aegis. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon took part in the opening ceremony and plenary session of the conference. There are the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the President of Georgia, the prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Second President of the National Council of Austrian republic, and the Chairman of the Council of National Assembly of Republic of Belarus among the heads of delegations. The fact of such important event in Turkmenistan is another evidence of international authority of the country and universal recognition of constructive initiatives of Turkmen Leader, which were uttered from the UN General Assembly podium and aimed at optimization of mutually beneficial partnership in transport and communication sector. Members of the Government, heads of profile ministries and departments of numerous countries, leaders and representatives of large international organizations and structures as the UN, its Committees and specialized establishments as well as the OSCE, OEC, SOC, CIS, European Commission and other participate in the forum in Ashgabat. There are heads and representatives of competent international organizations, which profile relates to all directions of transport sphere – automobile, aviation, railroad and maritime transport, as well as large international financing, banking and trade structures among the delegates.
