On November 26, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, who arrived in the capital to attend the Global Sustainable Transport Conference Grateful to the Turkmen President for finding the time for meeting, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Turkmen leader from the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Welcoming the guest, the head of state, in turn, extended best wishes to the top leadership and all the people of Belarus, having noted with satisfaction the progressive dynamics of the intergovernmental dialogue built on the solid experience of friendly and equal relations and mutuality-based cooperation. In the course of meeting the President and the guest exchanged views on the key issues of the Turkmen-Belarusian partnership built on a long-term basis, possessing a considerable and diverse potential in various areas, including the trade-economic sector. Particular emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of the previously reached agreements. As was pointed out, the present stage opens up new prospects, given the experience of joint work accumulated over the past few years, including construction of large industrial facilities. One such is construction in Lebap velayat of the mining, ore-dressing and processing complex for production of potash fertilizers on the base of the high-grade Garlyk potassium salts deposit. Special consideration was given to the issue of strengthening fruitful contacts in the humanitarian fields, regarded as an integral part of interstate relations. In this context, the countries’ reciprocal interest was shown in furthering cooperation in the areas of education, science, culture, sports and tourism. At the end of meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich spoke in favor of further successful development of the bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian sectors. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Turkmenistan Oleg Tabanyuhov.
