Nurberdyeva accepted the credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Turkmenistan Christopher John Cooter. On behalf of the head of state, the leader of the national parliament congratulated the guest on his appointment to the important diplomatic post and wished him success in his work on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two friendly countries. In turn, on behalf of the Canada’s top leadership, the ambassador passed on warm greetings, sincere congratulations on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and wishes of growing prosperity and further progress to the nation’s leader. During the meeting, the ambassador was introduced to the priority trends of the constructive policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov in the name of the general welfare and sustainable development. The diplomat was also informed in detail about the key aspects of the ongoing development programs and large-scale projects aimed at the national economy’s steady growth, improvement of the people’s well-being. The parties also pointed out the importance of strengthening relations in the science, education, culture, sports and tourism, establishing contacts between the parliamentarians of the two countries.
