“The Korea Post” magazine dedicated its regular and special issues to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. One of the Korea’s leading publications tells to its leadership about our country’s grandiose success and achievements along with the history and rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, and the main vectors of the state policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. The first pages of the special edition feature the article “Turkmenistan’s Priority Positions at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly”. The article states that Turkmenistan’s global name recognition is enhancing and strengthening steadily thanks to the peaceful policy pursued by the national leader, his initiatives and concrete actions in the name of peace, security and progress. The overview covers the historical way Turkmenistan has overcome during 25 years of independence. A separate article is dedicated to the history of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, built on the equitable and long-term basis. The article puts a greater emphasis on the last year’s visit, when the President of Turkmenistan attended the opening ceremony of VII World Water Forum in the city of Taegu, where he had voiced the principal positions and constructive initiatives for the development of the UN Water Strategy that were widely supported by the global community of nations. The issue covers also the fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in the commercial and economic spheres. For several years, the renowned Korean companies, including LG, Hyundai, Samsung, Posco-Daewoo, Kia Motors etc., have been participating in the implementation of large-scale joint projects. The magazine also gives a brief overview of our country, its white-marble capital, Turkmenistan’s national economy and the development program for the regions, the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, and the ongoing preparations for the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Special attention is given to the major project - construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline. The special edition also contains an article on Turkmenistan’s social policy whose essence is reflected in the concise but capacious slogan: “The State - for the People”. An article on the development of our country’s transport sector also deserves attention.
