Ashgabat called on the countries of Central Asia and China to realize the potential of the transport partnership. This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the first summit «Central Asia - China» in the Chinese city of Xi'an.

«We are ready to expand cooperation in the transport sector, the main factor of which is the existence of objective mutual interests of the countries of Central Asia and China», -said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The head of state expressed confidence that the project «Revival of the Great Silk Road» put forward by Turkmenistan is designed to give a powerful impetus to economic development in Eurasia, uniting vast expanses from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean on modern principles, forming interconnected production and technological cycles and industrial belts.

«In this context, we consider it especially important to focus our efforts on maximizing the potential that opens up before us in the context of optimizing transport flows in the space of the Central Asian region and China», -the President of Turkmenistan said.
