On December 10, not far from the settlement of Bagabat (Ak Bugdai etrap, Akhal velayat), a regular action was held of destroying the narcotic drugs, counterfeit cigarettes and psychotropic substances confiscated in the course of a number of successful operations conducted by the law enforcement bodies in association with military agencies. Organized by the Government of the country, the State Counter Narcotics Coordination Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Interior Ministry, the event was a tangible evidence of the state’s and society’s readiness to show great resolution in opposing to one of the most dangerous challenges of the present. The action was attended by the leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, public organizations, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to our country, mass media. Prior to the action, the confiscated narcotic drugs, counterfeit cigarettes and psychotropic substances were demonstrated to the action attendees. Then, packed into the bags they were fired in the special incinerators. Any of the comers had an opportunity to take part in that noble cause – to throw the narcotic drugs into the incinerator, built in compliance with the international standards, and which guarantees full destruction of the drugs. The entire process of destroying the drugs was held in strong compliance with the generally-admitted rules, and under the constant control of the law enforcement bodies.
