President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Dushanbe, proposed launching a Central Asian transport and logistics platform.

The head of state noted that the transport sector has been and remains a strategic component of cooperation and through the common efforts of the countries of the region, favorable conditions are gradually being created for freight and passenger traffic between the states of Central Asia, as well as with other regions of the Eurasian continent.

«In this regard, we propose to consider the possibility of launching a Central Asian transport and logistics platform, the main task of which could be to consider the issues of creating transport hubs in the region, forming new and increasing the efficiency of existing transit corridors, optimizing and harmonizing customs, migration and other procedures along international transport routes passing through the territories of our states», -said the President of Turkmenistan.
