President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, noted the need to develop agriculture in the country.

According to the head of the Turkmen state, this year the industry will utilize investments worth 1 billion 600 million manats.

«Currently, on all farms, the number of cattle is 2 million 530 thousand cows, the number of sheep is 20 million 88 thousand, chickens are 21 million 957 thousand and 141 thousand camels», –said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The head of state also noted that in order to introduce international experience in the fields of agriculture and livestock breeding, it is necessary to develop relations with the leading countries of the world.

«We must carry out the necessary work to increase yields and improve seed production. By introducing selected crop seeds into production, we must modernize the work of seed farms at the level of international standards», –the President of Turkmenistan emphasized.
