Today, on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a meeting of the Council of Elders under the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Council of Elders at the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was held at the «Maslahat köşgi» Palace.
As you know, on the 27th of January of this year, Hero-Arkadag held a working meeting with the participation of the vice-president of the Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov R. Bazarov and the head of the Office of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan K. Babayev.
During the meeting, Haji Hero-Arkadag emphasized that currently elders, who have extensive life experience, take an active part in explanatory work among young people. The importance of the noble deeds of the Council of Elders, aimed at ensuring a comprehensive, harmonious education of the younger generation, and historical measures for the development of the country in priority areas, implemented under the leadership of Haji Arkadagly Hero Serdar, was also noted.
Today, in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, the older generation, uniting the past, present and future, educating youth and instilling in them the best character traits, inspiring them to achieve great goals and successes, is receiving high honours. Honouring elders and increasing their authority are among the noble traditions bequeathed by our ancestors. The worthy role of elders in society, their merits in educating the younger generation in the spirit of conscientiousness, patriotism, and hard work are clearly manifested in our glorious history, literary heritage and everyday life.
In order to actively involve elders in the public life of the country, use their rich work and life experience in strengthening the unity of the people and balanced solution of state problems, the Council of Elders operates under the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. At the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty held on the eve of the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of the Fatherland, the advice and proposals of the elders were heard and, on their basis, the most important decisions were developed and adopted on the further development of our state.
The priority directions of state policy are to ensure legal and social protection of young citizens, popularize in the world the spiritual, moral and cultural values inherent to the Turkmen people, a healthy lifestyle, educate the younger generation of patriotism, humanism, civic responsibility, support and encouragement of their initiatives.
One of the main issues brought up for consideration at today's meeting was the election of a new member of the Council of Elders under the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Council of Elders under the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Having nominated the candidacy of A. Myradov, who is highly respected among the people, those who spoke on this issue noted his high personal qualities, organizational and other abilities.
The newly elected member of the Councils of Elders expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Haji Arkadagly Hero Serdar and Haji Hero-Arkadag for the successful implementation of large-scale programs for the benefit of the Turkmen people, assuring that he will apply all his strength, knowledge and experience to achieve high goals for the prosperity of the Fatherland.
During the meeting, issues related to the activities of the elders to popularize the book of Arkadagly Hero Serdar «Ýaşlar – Watanyň daýanjy» among the public, including youth, were also discussed. Its publication in the year «Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar» was of great importance, because it gave a worthy assessment of the role of representatives of the younger generation in the life of our society.
As is known, the head of state sent the first copy of this publication, the title of which states that youth are the support of the Fatherland, as a gift to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Honourary Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Those present emphasized that this meaningful work has become a valuable guide for the public in educating patriotic, highly spiritual youth with a broad outlook.
In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, thanks to the active support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the formation of a comprehensively developed young generation who loves the Motherland with all their hearts is one of the strategic objectives of state policy.
As noted, the work of the President of the country «Ýaşlar – Watanyň daýanjy» also became a great help for young people who take an active part in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the Fatherland, in the work to further increase its international authority.
Continuing, the meeting participants considered issues related to the work carried out by the elders to promote among the population the socio-political significance and deep symbolism of the motto of 2024 - «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Frag».
The speakers emphasized that, under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is successfully implementing a cultural policy in which the noble endeavors of Haji Hero-Arkadag received a worthy continuation. As a result, the work of the brilliant poet and philosopher Magtymguly is studied comprehensively and on a scientific basis both in our country and abroad.
Nowadays, the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi sounds with renewed vigor, becoming a messenger of goodwill of the Turkmen people in the development of friendly, good neighbourly relations with the peoples of the world, and strengthening international humanitarian ties.
In this context, we remind that in December 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution, approving the Action Plan for the solemn celebration of the anniversary.
Previously, a corresponding organizing committee was created. Today, in our country and in other countries, thematic meetings, forums, presentations, and other events dedicated to the work of Magtymguly Fragi are being held.
The speeches emphasized that the modern historical era, which started with the program reforms of the head of the Turkmen state, is marked by a number of important events. These include the declaration of 2024 as «The Year of the Great Poet and Philosopher of the Turkic World – Magtymguly Fragi», the inclusion of a collection of his manuscripts in the International List of «Memory of the World», and the inclusion of the poet’s 300th anniversary in the UNESCO List of Memorable Dates.
The past year, which passed under the motto «Happy youth with Arkadag Serdar», was full of bright events, one of which was the new poem «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi», written by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As emphasized, Magtymguly’s creativity occupies a special place in the works of Haji Hero-Arkadag, in his speeches at state celebrations and forums. The National Leader of the Turkmen people is an outstanding personality who understands the essence, knows how to analyze and interpret the works of Magtymguly Fragi, and a clear example of this is the new poem by Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
With great pride, the speakers emphasized that the poem of Hero-Arkadag, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, with its soul-enlightening motives, enriches the life of our beautiful Fatherland, inspires new successes and victories in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.
As is known, guided by the desire to associate the motto of 2024 with the name of Magtymguly Fragi and the poem «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi», as well as taking into account the proposals of members of the Halk Maslahaty, representatives of public organizations, labor collectives and citizens, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan in December last year adopted a Resolution on declaring 2024 the year of «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi».
A symbol of deep reverence by modern generations for the memory and creative heritage of the brilliant poet and philosopher is the majestic monument to Magtymguly Fragi, installed in the southern part of Ashgabat, the opening of which is planned as part of the upcoming anniversary celebrations.
The initiator of the project to create a cultural and park complex in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, dedicated to the outstanding classic of national literature, is the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Honourary Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who constantly keeps the progress of the work carried out here in the spotlight.
By the way, at the suggestion of Hero-Arkadag, monuments to classical poets and philosophers from other countries will also be installed on the territory of the complex. This will become the personification of friendship, brotherhood and good neighbourliness of peoples, which Magtymguly Fragi called for in his immortal works.
The meeting participants emphasized that the theme of the upcoming 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi was also voiced in the speech of the head of state at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September last year.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, all cultural humanity pays tribute to the memory and respect of the great humanist, who made a great original contribution not only to world literature, but in general to the development of the civilization of the East, and the whole world.
During the current meeting, speakers emphasized that all ongoing events and planned anniversary celebrations are designed to contribute to a wider familiarization of the world community with the work of Magtymguly Fragi, revealing the depth and uniqueness of his talent and, in general, strengthening the fruitful humanitarian dialogue, relations of friendship and mutual understanding between peoples, which is an important factor in promoting a culture of peace and trust on the planet.
Emphasis was also placed on the activities of the Council of Elders at the Charitable Foundation to provide assistance to children in need of care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In this regard, it was noted that commitment to the national principles of humanism, including the willingness to help those in need, to surround children left without the care of loved ones with care and attention, is a guideline that guides respected elders.
Regular practice has included the allocation of funds from the Charitable Fund to carry out various operations for children in need of care in medical institutions of the capital and velayats of the country, as well as payment of expenses for treatment and the purchase of appropriate medical supplies for young Turkmen citizens who are raised and educated in orphanages, specialized schools and boarding schools.
Thanks to the support and tireless fatherly care of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, children with disabilities are provided with comprehensive assistance to restore and strengthen their health, and create all conditions for their harmonious development.
The humanitarian actions carried out by the Foundation at the international level are widely supported in friendly countries, where interest in the Foundation’s charitable activities is growing. Providing humanitarian assistance in 2023 to children in Türkiye, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Afghanistan, and Palestine is a visible result of the humanitarian initiatives of the Fatherland, as well as Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
Those gathered expressed deep gratitude to the Honourary Elder Hero-Arkadag and his worthy successor, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for his tireless concern for the health and well-being of the younger generation, for creating the best living conditions, comprehensive harmonious development and self-realization of children in independent neutral Turkmenistan, where equal opportunities have been created for everyone.
During the meeting of the Council of Elders under the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and the Council of Elders under the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a number of other issues were considered and appropriate decisions were made.
Noting that today the priority tasks include successfully resolving pressing issues of our time and ensuring the regular participation of young people in various spheres of society and the state, the meeting participants assured that they would make every effort to properly organize events that are significant for the Fatherland.
