Preparations for the upcoming season are now underway at 379 bioenterprises in etraps and daikhan associations of Turkmenistan to keep cotton growers well supplied with ecologically clean and economically sound biological products. The enterprises specialize in rearing beneficial insects, such as lacewings and Habrobracon hebetor that help to control cotton pests. Biological pest control is highly efficient and environmentally safe. Farmlands to be planted to cotton are now being plowed and prepared. Farm machinery and high-quality seeds (at cotton gin plants) are in active preparation for the spring planting campaign. Efforts are also being made to handle winter crops, allocate farmlands for potato, vegetable and cucurbitaceous crops.
